Really nice, in depth book about the origin and history of the Hebrew/ Christian religion. It discusses Darwin, the Septuagint, archeological digs, the Vulgate, Messianic prophesies, etc.
It uses many references to biblical persons, places, and writings that would be common knowledge to those who study church history or bible scholars, but may not be widely known to those who are new to biblical study or Christianity. This is not a book for those who know nothing about the bible. This is a detailed historical and biblical book, but is accessibly written.
