Walking to Mordor

Today I began my walk to Mordor.
I know that sounds silly, but I truly am attempting to walk to Mordor. Thanks to my friend Meagan, I discovered this lovely post: A Hobbit's Guide to Walking.
So I decided that I was going to walk to Mordor with my friend Meagan. We've been trying to meet up to start for a few weeks, but life and weather keep getting in the way. This afternoon, however, I felt like going for a walk around in my yard between rain storms. Using my handy dandy smart phone, I managed to track my 10 minute walk and walked .4 miles.
Yup, not even half a mile.
At that point it started raining again and I had to commute into town, so my current mileage is .4 miles.
That means I've left Bag End and started down the lane. Maybe I'll pick Meagan up on the way?!

(I thought the door to the gate was appropriate for this post.)

“It's a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don't keep your feet, there's no knowing where you might be swept off to.”
